I was fortunate enough to pull a tag for the 2011 season to go to western Kansas and whitetail hunt. Can you say excited? I finally get to venture in to the land of the giants! I hunted 5 strait days and saw so many deer I couldn't count them all. I spent the better part of my trip hunting a good 170 class buck that I saw for three strait days but my luck would run out with him. On my last day, I ran across this absolute beautiful buck and couldn't resist the shot. He grossed 147 1/8, he was 20 1/8th wide, and had good mass and over 8 inch G2's and G3's. I'm so proud of this buck, I couldn't believe the good lord blessed me with him.
I would like to thank Captain Bob Files' father Reed for guiding me around the area and traversing all of the public land in the area with me in search of a giant. I also would like to thank Chad Cooper for making such a beautiful mount. I just cant express how nice is the mount is. Plus, he hand molded the ears instead of using plastic inserts like other taxidermist. He charged me $545 for this mount and it was pretty much his most expensive mount. I got my deer back in 3 WEEKS! I was expecting maybe 3-6 months, but NO. I had it hanging in the living room in 3 weeks. What a classy guy and a fantastic taxidermist.
Congrats on an awesome buck big guy. When I first saw the picture of the mount, I knew that Chad had mounted him. That is one beautiful buck and Chad did an awesome job, as would be expected.
