LED Flashlights Compared: 1x Cree xm-l Romisen vs 3x Cree xm-l Trustfire
Frank, this one's for you!
I have been wondering how these "3800" Lumen flashlights from overseas stand up to my 1600 Lumen flashlight also from overseas, so I ordered one.
The 1600 Romisen RC-J4-2 is one I mentioned in Frank's recent thread about LED flashlights. It has ONE Cree xm-l LED, and is blindingly bright. So wouldn't 3 Cree xm-l be brighter?
So I took advantage of a foggy night to make a video, and find out.
I don't know what the actual lumens of either of these is, but to me the Romisen with only 1 LED does a better job than the one with 3 of supposedly the same LED. Chinese truth in advertising!
Frank, you gotta get you one of these suckers! They are awesome!
Ron, the one you linked to is made by trust fire. I don't know if I would go that route, since Trust fire is the company that makes the one in the video with 3x cree beaten by 1 cree in the romisen. AND, they are using the warm white version of the Cree xm-l, instead of the cool white.
It's available from many companies, just make sure you add "romisen" to your search for "1600".
since mine is 3800 lumens and use the ultrfire 3000ma batteries, now with 3 batts in the light at 1 time, mine is very bright and will blind you or the bad guy in the strobe mode, very disorienting. $65.. Brightest white light I have seen, brighter and whiter than a 5 million candle power spotlight. Fog will mess up all lights and the wider the beam(3 leds) the worse it will be just like your car.
No scientist here like CL, but for my $ the best prices and selection I can find the ebay seller is on holiday till Feb. Got an extension for my 3800 lumen to mod from 2 batt to 3, I think this will not make it brighter but give it a longer run time. The batteries I got hold there charge for weeks without recharging, I like that alot, Lion is the only way to go and $6 for 2 is even better, will get more when the store reopens along with a 2 batt 1800 lumen single led flashlight. I think the same Chinese factory or 3 make all these batts for everyone and the mark up for the flashlights and batts are almost criminal, that is why I buy as direct as possible.
OH almost forgot, my buddy has a ($110)1400 lumen he paid very good money for stateside(made in china, lol), side by side there is no difference in the quality of the 2 lights and my ($65)3800Lu was so bright his was obscured by my light like it was not even on...now I see there is a 4000 Lu available!

See how much deeper the led is set in your Romisen< I have a kill light in green for my gun and it is set that deep a $139 gun. My 3800 seems to be much brighter white than the one in your video, we will have to have a "flashlight OFF"...LOL

Frank, video recorders don't record well in low light, especially cheap ones like the one I used. The light is MUCH brighter in person.
COME OUT THURSDAY NIGHT TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!! BRING YOUR FLASHLIGHT IF YOU ARE MAN ENOUGH !
