RWNJ... you gotta be kidding right? Santorum holds an "A" with the NRA and a 'B' with the GOA and in your head that translates into, and I want to quote you here, he is "against gun rights'? HUH? That is quite a leap and frankly an innacurate slur. You may have (some) facts, but it is your inability to decipher the data that needs help.
Santorum in (not) against Gun Rights. That is the fact.
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." -Winston Churchill
"What has always made the State a hell on earth, has been precisely that, man has tried to make it his heaven." - Holderlin
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.." -Samuel Adams
In the 90s, he voted to support the Lautenberg Gun Ban, which stripped law-abiding gun owners of their Second Amendment rights for life, simply because they spanked their children or did nothing more than grab a spouses wrist.
He voted for a bill in 1999 disguised as an attempt to increase penalties on drug traffickers with guns… but it also included a provision to require federal background checks at gun shows.
And then he voted with gun-controlling Democrats Dianne Fienstein and Frank Lautenberg to mandate locks on handguns in 2005.
He also has a history of backing other anti-gun politicians, such as Arlen Specter.

1. Spanking & Wrist Grabbing? No. It was to prevent those (Convicted) of Domestic Violence from having Guns. That is a bit different.
2. In 1999 he voted for Gun Show Background Checks? Not true.
3. I personally don't see a problem with mandating that a Lock accompany each Gun sold.
Santorum may not be as loose about these things as you would like, but flatly stating that he is "against Gun Rights" is about as inaccurate a charge as you can make. He has my vote and I would NEVER vote for someone who was against Gun Rights / the 2nd Ammendment (which has nothing to do with Hunting).
Here are Santorum's 1999 votes:
Voted NO on background checks at gun shows. Require background checks on all firearm sales at gun shows. Status: Amdt Agreed to Y)50; N)50; VP decided YES Reference: Lautenberg Amdt #362; Bill S. 254 ; vote number 1999-134 on May 20, 1999
Voted YES on loosening license & background checks at gun shows. Vote to table or kill a motion to require that all gun sales at gun shows be completed by federally licensed gun dealers. Also requires background checks to be completed on buyers and requires gun show promoters to register with the Treasury. Reference: Bill S.254 ; vote number 1999-111 on May 11, 1999.
