There is a guy on Bauer Road, he has a sign company and is also does the manufacturers warranty work in the inflatables when they come un-glued.
Before I would ever invest in an inflatable again, I would consult him.
I bought one for $900, it did come with the outboard also. Used it about 5 times, and it came un-glued, fell apart.
Took it for the warranty work, and the manufacture pays a pro-rated amount. The repair man wanted $600 to fix it, the manufacture would render 50 percent. therefore, I was to pay $300 for the repair, with a one year warranty.
I bought the water tender, plastic $300.
I do understand that you want to stow it onboard for your trip and a hard plastic one does do well for that.
But please do your homework and make sure what you buy will suit your needs.
It would not be fun, should you get down there, and your dingy falls apart.
I l have a 10.5 foot, hard floor inflatable that you are welcome to borrow for as long as you need it. Have a 15 HP Johnson to go on it.
Let me know if you would like to use it.
Steve
great offer but I hesitate to barrow something like that- It is one thing to break some you own and another to break something someone was nice enough to lend. I have a 2.5 older engine. Torn between a halapon (- 2 sp) and a PVC. type. BT had something negative about them coming unglued, so I am still trying to figure what to do.
You could provide some feedback on what you have and how you like it ? Thank for the offer
Ed,
If you don't find what you are looking for, you are welcome use my dingy, with you engine or mine - I understand there is some risk, but have no concerns. You are not assuming any responsibility.
