Manually pumped live well

Saw a lot of folks making live wells with pumps but I wanted to try something simple with no battery hookup.



Picked up most everything at Ace - pvc drain spigots and screw in connector. O rings. Bailing pump with hose. Five gallon bucket a few zip ties and bait lid. No glue or screws. Just a few drilled holes. Gave it the spit test in the sink and it worked ok. Looking forward to using it to see if/how well it really works.

that's an interesting idea! are the drain spigots just to let the water out?

Yes. you should be able to maintain one of two water levels depending on which one you keep open.

Looks like that will work nice. What applications do you plan to use it for?

Looks like it could be ideal for a kayak...very cool!

Took it for a test drive tonight and it worked well. Kept all my shrimp and some white trout I was using for bait alive. Only pumped it a couple times an hour.
