I managed to get 2 1/2 deer. That was two spikes and half of a doe that my brother shot. Last year was alot better for me, with a total of 7 deer. I seriously hope next year will be better! What was your final count, and how does that compare with previous years?
Years ago I would not miss a good hunt and on my last year hunting I was lucky enough to get seven the same year in SW Texas. But now I am limited and lucky to start and end the season with the same dear. Glad you all were able to found a few.
I spent a lot of time in the woods and saw 5 deer. Didn't shoot any. Several were running in the opposite direction from me ( think I had BO those times) . Several small Does and only one shootable buck that turned before I could shoot him. From what I have heard several people did OK, but I think more did less than last year. Next year I think I will up north if I hunt at all.
I like Gene's Comment about the same "DEAR".
Glad I got that Elk in Al, because I am not getting any deer meat from Florida
Mine was better then last year....and should have filled all of my tags(6)....I had my chances anyway, just a little sloooooow on the trigger pull, and the deer had other idea's at that moment, and were gone....saw a lot of buck's and killed the first that gave a good shot....then it was doe hunting from there, and didn't see to many of those....but a couple is better then being skunked, with meat in the freezer to share...1 8pt.buck, 1 small doe
we could use a longer gun season then a week + weekend....or get better with the bow....although what I shot at.... died

Fishing has taken up much more of my time in the past 3 to 4 years but i did manage to shoot three does from my bedroom window, could have been 20 if i wanted to mess with them. years past it would be nothing to shoot 10 to 12 a year but i hunted every day i could from the end of September to middle of January and deer was about all my kids would eat.
In KY we are allowed 1 buck. I was lucky enough to get mine on the 2nd sit. My wife had the same luck. We both had pictures of our deer from previous days, set stands, hunted the evening with no luck, and then killed our deer the next morning. Only difference was I got mine in Sept with a bow and she got hers in Nov with a rifle. We didn't hunt much, but it was a nice relief. I'm sure next year will be different.
Didn't see many deer this year. I got a spike & a doe up in Alabama. Got a 14" wide seven point in Black Water. Last year I ended up with nine out of Black Water.
I saw a handfull of deer this year but most of them were spooked up when going through escambia river. Couldn't get a shot off quick enough. This whole season sitting plots Ive seen none. Between all the acorns and mild winter they have no real reason to be going to the plots right now.
We had a great year in my opinion. I killed a 6 point and a doe with my bow and killed a nice 6 point and 2 doe with my gun. I had one clean miss on a large rack buck and blooded one up on the last day of Vacation that we could not find. My wife killed two doe with her new bow, so that totals 7 for this year. Planning on getting a bunch of smoked German sausage made from our Venison this year.
