The Florida Dept. of Transportation, at the request of the City of Pensacola has banned fishing from the bridge. Naturally, the action drew mixed reactions. The City did say that they would have preferred to leave the bridge open, but issues of litter and vandalism were getting out of hand. $4800 has been spent just on replacing globes on the lights that were broken by fishing weights. And, people were either too lazy or too sorry or both to clean up their litter and fish remains despite garbage cans being placed there for their convenience.
As in most cases, the actions of a few have created a problem for the masses.
Guess Bob Sikes is next then Because---- The people who do that sort of thing are not fishermen & women. Fishermen clean up after themselves. We just take the blame for it.

Maybe PPD should do something to the people who are littering and making this mess and make some arrest and it would not hamper the enjoyment all other law abiding tax payers enjoy.
