Fish Hard to beat a battle

You can't go wrong with the Penn Battle. We have been doing battle with some bruisers offshore lately and as of yet no problems. Caught a est. 50# yellowfin with 30# braid and had it in the boat in no time. We replace our BG 90's with them also using 25# mono for pitch baits on the 8000s, to white's and mahi's. Cliff also pitched to a ono with the 30 class battle and again after almost being spooled the bad boy was in the cooler. Tim caught a snowy grouper in 800' with it but you will have to watch the last 150 feet of line on the spool to do it . I mostly like the price also

like purple haze said for the price i would go with the battle . We have put them through the ringer we have a conquer and i love it especially for the ease of maintance but we still like the battles so much we have pretty much replaced all other large spinners to them.

Look into the okuma raw 2. Its got way better drag than all the reels you've mentioned.

All my spinners are spinfisherV. From 3500-8500. I used to own others. Best reel out there for less than 400!

On the Shurketch we mostly use Battles also. Reeled in two AJ's yesterday on them mounted on Ugly Sticks. Aj's were estimated by the guys to weigh 50 and possible 65 or 70 lbs. They had the drags tightened down to the max and the 65# braid held on. Actually I watched Skip and TJ reel them in......I was the gaffer!!

Coming in from way offshore yesterday we ran into schools of feeding yellowfins. With PENN battles in hand we again did battle with the mighty YF's and boated several of them. That same PENN battle I talked about over 3 years ago held up to the task. I have almost been spooled a couple a times but for the money I would still recommend the battle.

Battle and spinfisherV are basically the same reel except one is waterproof and has Moore drag. Can't go wrong with either, I prefer the fishers. My 8500ll has held up to yellowfin from venice, AJ, gags, kings and a few blacktips 4-7ft.

I just love the HT-100 drag penn has on these reels!! You can't beat it, especially for the price! Love my Battles and Penn.

I'm thinking the best reel would be a Shakespeare 2091, just happen to know where there's a couple of slightly used ones.
